PRP skin regeneration is a safe and effective anti-ageing treatment

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Skin Regeneration at ICCM is a treatment that can be effectively used for anti-ageing and skin regeneration by using your own cells. The use of platelet-rich plasma is not new. In fact, it has long been recognised for its accelerated wound healing properties in applications such as surgery and the treatment of certain sports injuries. Now, this technology is being used for cosmetic enhancement with outstanding results.

PRP skin regeneration is a process in which the body’s own growth factors are used to stimulate natural skin regeneration without the use of chemicals. The procedure involves the use of the patient’s own blood plasma to improve the overall health and appearance of the skin. The PRP skin regeneration treatment works by enhancing the texture of the skin, helping to achieve a youthful glow.

What should I expect at the consultation?

As with all treatments, we recommend that you come in for a personal consultation before committing to PRP Skin Regeneration. This will give you the opportunity to raise any questions or concerns you might have about the procedure, and ensure that it is the right treatment for your particular needs. We will also perform a thorough skin evaluation and advise you on the number of treatments you require.

How does the PRP Skin Regeneration process work?

During the PRP skin regeneration process, we begin by performing a skin needling procedure. We will apply a topical anaesthetic to your skin so that you don’t feel any pain during the process. Skin needling involves the use of a special device to create tiny punctures in the skin. The skin needling process helps to prepare the skin for treatment, allowing the platelet rich plasma to penetrate the skin properly.

We will then draw blood from your arm. The blood will be processed in a centrifuge, which works to separate the platelet rich plasma (PRP) from the blood. This PRP solution is then infused into the site of treatment.

This plasma contains the cells that are responsible for releasing growth factors and attracting stem cells that then go on to create new skin cells. PRP skin regeneration is a bioactive stimulator that thickens the skin for a firmer, younger looking appearance.

Once the plasma has been applied to the treatment area, we will complete the process with a soothing serum or balm in order to relieve any irritation or discomfort. Because the PRP solution contains your own cells, there is very little risk of infection at the site of treatment.

What can the treatment be used for?

PRP Skin Regeneration is ideal for:

  • Crepey neck
  • Eye areas
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Textural improvements
  • Dull, dry skin
  • Backs of hands
  • Full face rejuvenation
  • Décolletage

How long does recovery take?

There is minimal downtime following the procedure, and it is usually possible to return to your normal activities immediately. You may, however, notice some redness and mild skin irritation, which is completely normal. We recommend that you avoid exposure to the sun while your skin heals, and try and avoid excessive sweating for a few days. It’s also a good idea to keep your skincare regime simple during this time — avoid alcohol-based products, as well as exfoliating cleansers.

What kind of results can I expect?

After undergoing a PRP Skin Regeneration treatment, results generally take around two to three weeks to become apparent. We recommend that you have a series of PRP skin regeneration treatments for optimal results and come in for regular follow-up treatments. To extend the results of your PRP treatment, we recommend that you protect your skin from the sun, cleanse your skin with gentle products, and keep your face adequately moisturised.

Some of the benefits of the treatment include a more even skin tone, a more youthful appearance, increased plumpness and skin laxity, smaller pores, and overall smoothness.

How much does the treatment cost?

We are currently offering PRP and a skin needling treatment for $499.
