Looking for effective, affordable anti-wrinkle injections in Sydney?
Anti-wrinkle muscle relaxant injections are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world. They relax facial muscles, restricting their ability to function as normal, thus smoothing out wrinkles and creating a smoother, more youthful and relaxed appearance. Additionally, they are effective, affordable, convenient, and there is no downtime associated with this non-invasive treatment.
Generally, anti-wrinkle injections are particularly useful in reducing or eliminating “dynamic” lines of the upper face, such as frown lines and crow’s feet. For treatment of more permanent “static” lines please visit our page on dermal fillers.
Which areas are anti-wrinkle injections most useful for?
Anti-wrinkle injections are extremely effective for the treatment of:
- Frown lines
- Crows’ feet
- Forehead lines
- Excess sweating (underarms, hands and feet)
- Facial slimming
- Bunny lines (lines on top of the nose)
- Chin creases
Strategically placed anti-wrinkle injections can also relax the muscles in the jaw to create a slimmer jaw line and reduce or stop the downward pull of the lip depressor muscles.
Anti-wrinkle injections are also used in a variety of medical conditions, including treatment of migraines and tension headaches, teeth grinding, and excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms.
The initial consultation may take between 15-20 minutes. After consent is obtained, the procedure itself takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes only. A follow-up appointment would not normally be required.
The treatment will start to take effect usually within two to three days with the maximum effect usually achieved in 7-14 days.
How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
The anti-wrinkle injections hinder the communication signals between the muscles targeted in the treatment and the nerves that tell them when to move. This creates a temporary period of relaxation for the muscles when they are unable to contract as strongly. This gives the skin over the top of the muscles an opportunity to rest and repair itself so that any wrinkles present in the area decrease in visibility or disappear entirely. Not only does this treatment reduce the appearance of already existing wrinkles, but it also keeps new ones from forming.
How long will the results last?
Longevity varies from person to person, but the results for anti-wrinkle injections usually last for 3-4 months in most cases. Repeat treatment is recommended when movement in the area starts to return.
Anti-wrinkle injection FAQs
Generally, there are few side effects associated with anti-wrinkle injections and these are usually transient in nature.
Minor swelling and redness at the injection site usually resolves within the first few minutes. Some people may experience mild, short-term bruising, which is easily covered with makeup. Mild headaches after the treatment have also been reported, but this can be treated with oral painkillers like Panadol.
In rare cases, the anti-wrinkle injection medication can spread beyond the desired muscle when injected in the frown region and may cause temporary drooping of the upper eyelid. This is extremely rare in the hands of an experienced doctor and is treatable with topical eye drops in most cases. It usually resolves within a few weeks.
Most clients return to work or normal activities immediately following our anti-wrinkle injections. However, it is recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and massaging of the injected area for 24 hours.
The aim of anti-wrinkle treatment is to look refreshed and not to look “frozen” or “stunned.” In the hands of an experienced injector, the results look natural with appropriate facial expressions.
Our anti-wrinkle injections start at $4.50 per unit.
