non–surgical face lift (thread lift)

Time can take its toll on our faces no matter how carefully we treat our skin. Whether it's age catching up with us, or the damage we have unknowingly placed on our skin through sun damage or smoking, there is now a new technique to subtly reverse the signs of loose facial skin with the Thread Lift.

The Thread Lift technique essentially is the creation of 'scaffolding' under the skin. It is really a very simple procedure, with only a local anaesthetic being administered. In the procedure, a thin thread is fed underneath the skin using a needle, the needle is then removed and the thread stays under the skin.

The thread that is used is the same as what is commonly used worldwide for suturing. This thread has microscopic hooks that can not be felt or seen. Once the needle is removed, the thread that is left behind attaches to the underside of the skin causing it to contract. Within six weeks the skin creates an envelope around the thread causing further contraction and retraction of the skin.

The end result is a very subtle, natural looking lift, without an operation, general anaesthetic, or scarring, and the best thing about it is that the results are long lasting.   The threads can be used anywhere on the face or neck where the skin needs tightening – most commonly used for the brow, cheek area, jowls and upper neck.
