Augmentation Mammoplasty or breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed to build up the breasts, increasing cup size and is also suitable to correct slight sagging to improve general firmness. It will improve the proportion of your breasts to your body size if you feel that are smaller than they should be, and can also be used to build up the breasts after mastectomy.
The process starts with you coming in for an initial consultation. During this time, you will be able to have a detailed discussion with the doctor and have all the necessary information provided. This includes discussion of the patient's concern, medical history, examination of the area, as well as that of the implants (size and shape), side effects, recovery, and also the cost.
The procedure will take approximately three hours to perform; it is done under a combination of sedation and local anaesthesia in a modern and fully–equipped operating theatre. Patients can go home afterwards, to come back the next day to change the dressings and review.
The implants are textured, cohesive–gel silicone implants, that can be placed above or below the chest muscle depending on what is decided during consultation. In order to insert the implant, small incisions are made either under the breasts, around the nipples or under the arm. These fade away and become virtually unnoticeable after time, so scarring will be minimal.click here to see more results
